In my most recent work I am exploring the duality of love and fear that emerged at my son's birth with an intensity I could not have imagined prior to experience. These paintings are meant to document my journey through pregnancy and early motherhood as well as to help me read my experience by creating a crucial distance, as it were, to safely reflect back on this experience. I've tried to capture some of the extraordinary and the mundane aspects of my life.
